Brown-Out treatment is an additive formulated to eliminate brown discoloration that can occur in carpets that have been cleaned previously with shampoo or water with a high PH value. Brown-Out is recommended for use prior to cleaning carpeting with rotary, foam, steam, or extraction equipment.  Before shampooing, check both the local water and shampoo that will be used with PH test paper strips. If the results indicate a PH value above 7, simply combine four ounces of Brown-Out per gallon of water and add this to the rinse water as per the manufacturer’s specifications.
